Welcome to The Sparkline

Last week we promised a big announcement. Here it is! Think Traffic has now become The Sparkline: a blog for independent creatives and entrepreneurs building matterful things.

We’ve fallen in love over the past year. Our Fizzle community and The Fizzle Show have revealed a whole crew of people putting their asses on the line to build something they care about.

They’ve become the centers of our universe, our mission, the reason why we get up in the morning… to help people build their thing and support themselves and their families.

We have received more positive feedback on Fizzle and The Fizzle Show than anything else we’ve created, ever.

And now there are over 1,000 hard-working entrepreneurs inside Fizzle, facing demons and making breakthroughs every day. Over 10,000 people tune in for our inside jokes on The Fizzle Show every week.

Who are we? We’re FizzleCo — a group dedicated to helping indie entrepreneurs create something they care about.

One by one, we’ve created and transitioned projects under the Fizzle umbrella. First there was the Fizzle launch, then the business became FizzleCo, Inc., then we birthed The Fizzle Show, and recently Start a Blog that Matters found a new home inside Fizzle.

Everything we’ve “Fizzle-fied” has gotten better and better.

And now it’s Think Traffic’s turn.

The blog I started three-and-a-half years ago about building thriving online audiences has grown up. Since the start of Think Traffic in March of 2010, over 2.5 million people visited the site.

Think Traffic has had a wild ride and changed the way people think about building an audience on the Internet. Now it’s time for a revolution of the conversation.

Real success online, the kind of success that makes you proud, and fulfilled, and able to support yourself for the long haul, isn’t about traffic anymore, it’s about audiences.

It’s not about opportunities, it’s about serving a crew of people you care about. It’s not about tactics or exploitation, it’s about investing in a long and profitable relationship with your audience. It isn’t about SEO or the latest social media fad, it’s about putting your ass on the line to make a difference in this world.

With Fizzle we’ve found our people. People in Fizzle and listeners of The Fizzle Show aren’t just making a buck, they’re not just trying to write a better sales page, they’re building businesses that will last, a future for their families, and having a blast along the way.

Solidifying everything under one roof puts us all-in — this isn’t something we’re dabbling in. We believe it’s more possible than ever to create and connect and earn a living independently. We’re going all-in on the people committed to that journey.

You’re reading The Sparkline, a blog for people building their thing online.

You want to earn a living doing great work, work you care about, work that stretches and engages you, work that supports your family, work that builds instead of destroys, work that gives instead of withholds. We’re glad you’re here. We want to do that kind of work too.

Every week we’ll connect you to ideas, people, tips, strategies, stories, videos and more to keep you on your game. And don’t forget the inside jokes. They’ll be here as well. And Think Traffic? The very best from Think Traffic is already here in the archives. (And you can always see the full archives of Think Traffic just as they were).

If you were on the Think Traffic email list, you’re already subscribed to The Sparkline. If you’re not on the list, here’s how to join.

Help us christen the new site and leave a comment below. Tell us about your favorite memory from Think Traffic and what you’re looking forward to at The Sparkline. Tell us what you’re working on and why you’re excited to be a part of this crew.

Thanks for being here. Welcome to The Sparkline.

– Corbett Barr, Chase Reeves and Caleb Wojcik

LIVE LAUNCH EVENT: We hosted a live online event for The Sparkline launch, with some very special guests. Leo Babauta, Scott Dinsmore, Barron Cuadro and Nathan Barry were in-studio to celebrate the launch and talk about the future of blogging and publishing online. Watch the recording here »

A few other things we’d love you to know:

First, we have a brand-new Twitter handle: @Fizzle

We’re retiring both @FizzleCo and @ThinkTraffic. We’ll now be tweeting from @Fizzle for everything related to Fizzle, The Fizzle Show and The Sparkline.

Next, what does The Sparkline name mean, anyway? A sparkline is a small line chart that shows the change in some measurement over time, in a simple and highly condensed way.

Supporting yourself doing something you love requires a lot of personal change, and we want to help you see the change in a simple and highly condensed way. That’s our goal for The Sparkline, and we think the name is a perfect fit.

Finally, if you’ve been a Think Traffic reader, we want to thank you for all the support over the past 3.5 years. This new chapter means a lot to us, and we hope you’ll love The Sparkline even more than TT. We’ll continue to publish here 2-3 times per week and we hope you’ll subscribe to get our posts via email or rss.

Awesome! Love the new name. I’m not an official Fizzler, but I’m an avid fan of the podcast and the work y’all are doing. Keep up the good work.

    And bring on the F-bombs!!

  • Karen

Great name :) I love the stuff you guys post on ThinkTraffic and your videos on Fizzler are great. It’s always nice to find more entrepreneurs who don’t try to succeed using dirty (or as you say – douchbaggery) marketing methods

Appreciate the kind words Karen. :)

    Congratulations! This is great!

Well done guys! Love the look. Powerhouse branding! So happy for you all.

  • Brad Crawford

You guys are doing exciting things and I’m excited to be a part of it. Fizzle is starting to feel like a ‘movement’ and moving very fast!

  • Milo

Fo’ Fizzle’s sake, I can’t believe this! Where are fans of alliterative T-titled blogs to go now? Seriously though, this makes perfect sense, and shows you guys definitely practice what you preach when it comes to evolving one’s bizness. Congrats!

    • http://calebwojcik.com/ Caleb Wojcik

Ha! Made me laugh. Thanks for the support Milo.

      • Milo

Pleasure Caleb – Fizzle is an amazing resource and it’s great to see you guys ‘doubling down’ on it :)

  • unostips

Congrats, another great project for sure!

  • temafrank

Good luck to you! Seems a pity to give up the Think Traffic branding. It’s so strong from an SEO perspective!

    • Chase Reeves

You’re right Tema! We didn’t approach this lightly.

In the end we decided to go all in on growth through relationship, sharing, word of mouth and connecting with great people… instead of growing through SERP placement.

I’m the dumb guy when it comes to search, but Corbett and Caleb are no match for my enthusiasm about relationship and engagement. (and cat gifs, but that’s a different story).

      • Maxime Sincerny

Do you keep the content from fizzle? Because, if you 301 redirect to the new domain you will keep all your rankings if you still have the content up on the new domain. Also since you 301 the domain authority will be kept and you will rank easily for any new content you make. So you will still grow from serp placement :P

        • Caleb Wojcik

We brought over a good chunk of the TT posts, but just the cream of the crop that fits our vision. Those are all 301′d to here.

          • Maxime Sincerny

            Awesome. :)

      • http://www.smartbusinessrevolution.com/ John Corcoran

Relationships are great and all, but it’s the cat gifs that really drive the traffic. So as long as The Sparkline will have a heavy dosage of cat gifs, I think you don’t have to worry about SEO…

        • temafrank

I hate to say it, but I put out a blog post the other day about whether cute cats or cute babies would get more traffic and it has turned out to be one of my most popular posts ever. (http://frankonlinemarketing.com/cute-cat-cute-baby/) Seems to be an even split on cats vs babies, but that’s probably because I know a lot of parents and wannabe grandparents!

          • jhcorcoran

I think if you had added cute puppies somehow into that post, you would have burned down the internet. It just would have spontaneously combusted.

          • temafrank

I’ll have to test that out!

      • http://ruby.elevatedintel.com/ Thai Wood

I think that you guys made the right decision. There’s definitely a lot to be said for SEO and SERP placement, but the relationships and reputation you guys have built with your audience counts for so much more.

That being said, it doesn’t have to be one or the other either with properly placed redirects, something I have no doubt was already accounted for in the move strategy.

      • http://bourgiewinetv.com/ Krista Summitt

Chase is it true you aren’t taking on web design projects anymore?

  • Danielle Thomas

Awesome, guys! Think Traffic has provided so much value over the last few years and I love the decision to incorporate it into the Fizzle brand! You have a whole revolution going here and hopefully will reach out to more aspiring entrepreneurs to help them with their “thing” :)

  • Rachael McBride

Oh dang, I think I’m a little sad. I just found you guys a few weeks ago and have been devouring your podcasts. I can honestly say you’ve made a difference in my mission and the way I think about my work, and I can’t thank you enough for that. I’ve gotten attached to ThinkTraffic and the Fizzle Show, but even with a new name you guys will still be you and still offer both practicality and inspiration. Cheers on the new gig.

    • http://calebwojcik.com/ Caleb Wojcik

      Hey Rachael,

The Fizzle Show isn’t going anywhere. It will still be published every Friday here, at The Sparkline. We’ve brought over the “best of the best” Think Traffic essays that fit into our mission into our archives here.

  • http://collegeinfogeek.com/ Thomas Frank

Congrats, guys! This looks awesome :)

I do hope you’ll leave up the ThinkTraffic site somewhere though – I still look to it for design inspiration!

    • Chase Reeves

Better take some screenshots in the next 10 minutes :)

      • Omar Zenhom

        Ha! Priceless.

      • http://collegeinfogeek.com/ Thomas Frank

Actually, I forgot that we have Wayback Machine. It’s all good :)

  • http://www.voicesofmarketing.com/ John Shea

I like the new name, although I wish I knew sooner because I have a guest blog post being published tomorrow that features the ThinkTraffic newsletter. I’ll be emailing you guys the link when it’s published :)

  • http://www.kylelivinginkorea.com/ Kyle

I’m so happy to be a part of this family and this new chapter. I think you guys should interview Bruce Poon Tip of G Adventures. I’ve been reading his book, Looptail his values are extremely similar to what the three Cs are all about.

  • Mark Stewart

Congratulations, I’m somewhat new to Think Traffic and Fizzle but have gotten plenty out of reading this blog and being a Fizzle member so I see only good things for Sparkline.

  • strugglinginvestor

I only discovered ThinkTraffic about 3 months ago and was just starting to get into it so in that regard I’m I’m sad to see ThinkTraffic being migrated over to FizzleCo. There is always a bit of a learning curve when something new comes along.

With all that said I’m sure the move will bring bigger and better things and I’m excited about that!

Question….WIll it keep Chase better on topic during the fizzle show? That guy can veer off course with the best of them!

  • Rhonda Hale Warren

Because of you all and Fizzle, I have completely changed the way I blog and people are responding positively; my biz is definitely changing for the better!

  • Yacht Brokers

Bold and daring to change and reinvent yourselves. I’ll continue to read and learn – no matter what you call ‘your thing’. Best wishes for your continued success.

  • Nathan Collier

Awesome! Can’t wait to see where you guys take things from here. Congrats!

  • http://www.themodestman.com/ Brock

I don’t get it. So, Think Traffic is now the blog portion of Fizzle, and it’s called The Sparkline? But the redesign was so cool!

  • http://www.wombofwords.com/ Megan E. Evans

Very interested to see how you develop this all… and appreciate the focus on creative people who want to do things that matter. What does it mean to “Matter”? What does it mean to make a “thriving” doing what you love to do? What does it mean to be who you are and have that influence, change, and instill ideas in the world? I appreciate ThinkTraffic and Fizzle, because they provide practical guidance for making the seemingly impossible possible. Here’s to keepin’ on keepin’ on. Thanks.

  • http://www.discoverdoublebass.com/ Geoff Chamers

Congratulations guys! I think this makes a lot of sense and you have done a great job of tying everything together.

  • http://www.contentchampion.com/ Loz James

Good luck with this guys, this is a great piece of branding. ‘The Sparkline’ fits right in with Fizzle – literally :-) I’m looking forward to your content over the next few months/years – as I have with TT.

  • http://www.kidgigawatt.com/ Kelley Fitch

Congratulations, you guys! LOVE the new name, and seeing you practice what you preach, growing in public, and evolving along with us- it’s refreshing. A reevelation, if you will ;) I’ll be listening to you soon! mainemomma

  • Kim Doyal

This is fantastic and certainly takes a lot of courage, even with a solid audience and the amount of feedback you guys have received.
As a Fizzle member (albeit a tad sparce in logging in the past month) and fanatic for the podcast I can’t wait to see where The Sparkline goes.
    Congratulations again!

    • http://calebwojcik.com/ Caleb Wojcik

Thank you Kim! It certainly did take courage, but deep down we knew it was the right move.

  • Omar Zenhom

Chase, can I just say this design and functionality is gorgeous. Love the commenting system and the writer image with twitter handle integration on the right. Think Traffic was amazing but you just took it to the next level my friend. What were you drinking when designing this?

    • http://calebwojcik.com/ Caleb Wojcik

So many cups of liquid beverages…

  • honeypenny

Congratulations! can’t wait to see what transpires! xx

  • Andreea – LaunchGrowJoy.com

wooohooooo! this is so exciting. BIG CONGRATS on everything you have done so far and I am so happy to be a part of this amazing community!

    • http://calebwojcik.com/ Caleb Wojcik

Thanks Andreea! Can’t wait to share your Founders Story inside Fizzle this week.

      • Andreea – LaunchGrowJoy.com

        Thanks! Can’t wait either :)

  • http://www.einsteinssecret.net/ Deborah Owen

Great looking stuff, and it all works together so well! Good luck in this new endeavor. Re-branding is never easy, but it looks to me like you’ve done it REALLY well! Love you guys! :-)

  • jhcorcoran

Congrats, guys! I think the change makes sense.

  • http://www.gomedia.us/ Jeff Finley

    Wow this is awesome!

  • Suzie Wheeler

Think Traffic has changed my life and I’m sure sparkline will continue to do the same. I am on week 2 of building a blog that matters and am branding and designing as we speak. I am so excited. I knew I was not put on this earth to suffer poverty and you guys have given me the renewed excitement and direction on how to do it!!!!!! Congrats, I can’t wait.

  • Kendon Shaw

I’m excited to see where this goes and where this will take me as well. Good luck guys and great work.

  • Stephen Anthony

I love it.. I am all in on you guys! Amazing content as always. I’m a fan for life, no matter the name.

  • Kyle Pfister

    Exciting! Good luck.

  • Matt Beglinger

Nice work Corbett, I think this is a good move…reinventing yourself or your brand is a powerful move… it’s not the strong that necessarily survive, but the ones most able to adaptable to change.

  • http://www.marriedwithluggage.com Betsy Talbot

I’ve been following you since FreePursuits.com and have loved (and been inspired by) your evolution and growth. Here’s to another big success…for all of us!

  • Erika @ VA Creatively

Fizzle, fer shizzle! Happy to accompany you guys on any ride you wanna’ take me on. It’s always fun and, oh yeah, I learn stuff. Congrats and thanks for all you do.

  • Chase Reeves

YOU GUIZE I”M SO EXCITED! The Sparkline is like an adorable weapon of mass destruction and I WANT TO PLAY WITH IT.

NICE!! Totally brings the message home!! :-) I want one!

    • Carlton Taylor

I hate cats!! But, I want one too!!

Ha Ha… Yeah I’m not a Cat “in person” fan, but Cat pictures kinda rock!

    • http://www.lijstjes.info/ Jelle Derckx

Chase you are awesome! I’m seeing with babies with their eyes wide open looking at the ceiling and repeating: CHASE REEVES CHASE REEVES CHASE REEVES

  • Teresa Capaldo

All sounds great and exciting. Thank you for sharing your news with us in this way. I’ve learned so much through your work, about business and myself! I appreciate you for having a business model that truly recognizes the importance of customer care. You’ve created loyal fans by stepping up and giving with heart and soul to everything you create, with sincerity, laser focus and humor! It’s a pleasure to share your work with clients and people I care about. I commend your courage to change things up, and look forward to Sparkline~ Cheers!

  • http://www.designingachampion.com/ DrMatt

Awesome! I first started checking out Think Traffic about a year ago, and of course have loved the Fizzle Show. Congrats on all you guys are doing!

    • http://calebwojcik.com/ Caleb Wojcik

      Thanks Matt!

  • http://www.thestartupsessions.com/ Michael Knouse

Great to see things continuing to evolve and integrate. I just love that you guys are always pushing the edge and leading from a place of integrity. You don’t just talk – you do! I appreciate how you are always raising the bar and leading by example. Congratulations!

  • Armen

    Congrats guys.

One query… with this move, does this suggest that a brand name like ‘fizzle’ is more effective for building a product around than a generic name like ‘think traffic’?

I’m wondering about this myself. With a brand name you can build loyalty with nouns and verbs (like becoming a fizzler), but with a generic name you get instant recognition so people know what you’re about.

    • Chase Reeves

You could do it either way, Armen. We’ve done it both. This change is not so much about the name, but the direction of the company.

As the man says, “both are favorites, but grape is a little more favorite.”

  • Mitch Fox

Very exciting stuff guys! You set a great example of staying one step ahead of the game (as usual). Looking forward to the live event this afternoon.

  • Thomas Strunk

Are you going to sell the thinktraffic.com domain name? If so please let me know, I would love to use that name for my business!

  • Helen Martin

Exciting times. Congratulations. Not only am I a Fizzler but I am a Sparkler as well now. I’m going to be putting all this fizz and spark you provide right into the heart of my business. Well done and keep up the fab work.

It all makes perfect sense from a FIZZLE standpoint… Love that community and what you put together there, so excited to see everything amalgamated under one umbrella. There will be many sparks lit, and many entrepreneurs Fizzle`d up under the new banner! Can’t wait to see the future growth explode with all the potential. Thanks for putting your lessons in action and building the `things` that matter!

  • Mike Morrison

I loved the ThinkTraffic branding so a little sad to see it go (as I’m sure you guys are too!) but it’s very exciting to see everything coming together under the Fizzle banner!

So, will you take $10 for the old domain name? $15? $15.50?

  • http://www.theorderexpert.com/ Rashelle Isip

Wow, congratulations guys! It’s a big change, but I’m looking forward to all that Sparkline has to offer.

For old time’s sake, my favorite memory from Think Traffic was the “Need Some Motivation Right Now?” post. Loved that post. *sniff*

Thanks again for all that you do!

  • http://www.kunvay.com/ Kunvay

Congrats on the rebranding and relaunching. We’re looking forward to following your new journey.

  • http://www.EntrepreneurOnFire.com/ Entrepreneur On Fire

WOW! love the direction guys and I am stoked to continue supporting in any way I can!

    ~ John Lee Dumas

    • http://calebwojcik.com/ Caleb Wojcik

      Thanks John!

  • AKE67

  • Barry Morris

On the surface it seems everything you guys do is golden, but I know you’ve put a lot of thought (not to mention a potential plethora of Excel spreadsheets) into this decision. It makes sense from an organizational perspective and it provides Fizzle, not only the dedicated blog it deserves but, solid-line interconnections between the library, community, and readership.

    • Corbett Barr

Oh so many spreadsheets!!! :) Thanks Barry, we’re glad you’re here.

  • Edward Lawrence

ThinkTraffic has been a significant part of my life ever since I decided to enter the blogosphere. I have an article TT published on 5.11.2011 that i re-read regularly. The article, “21 Quick Actions you can do today to set your blog up for massive success” inspired and encouraged me to press forward. Thank you and I look forward to Sparkline continuing the same high-level of relevant content. I’m excited to continue/begin this new relationship.

  • Matt Hotze

Thanks for all that you do. I am a proud Fizzler, and this is making a huge impact on people’s lives. One my fellow Fizzlers was on our mastermind call last night, she plainly stated she would have given up by now without Fizzle and our little Fizzle sub-group.

    • Chase Reeves

Matt, you can’t know how cool it is to hear that. Thx man.

  • Mark Kenyon

Congrats guys! Excited to see your continued growth. Your work has inspired and helped me so much, I owe you all a huge thanks.

  • Andy Perdue

I’m here for the singing. Whenever you guys launch something, you sing. Where’s the singing?

    • Corbett Barr

      Hey, good question Andy!! Chase???

The Song should have something to do with how The Sparkline will lead you to Fizzle which will let you create the ‘thing’ and then Launch EXPLOSIVELY!!! (and there should be a cat holding a sparkler or something equally Fizzl’n!)

  • http://pjrvs.com/ Paul Jarvis

Congrats guys, and the site looks pretty too!

    • Corbett Barr

Thanks Paul, I’ll take “pretty” :)

  • Paul Ryan

Looking forward to working with you on this new creative based path. I’m just moving into this realm myself and have loved all things fizzle so far.

    Keep up the great work.

  • http://www.getoutofstuck.net Roberta Budvietas

Brave move, good luck and may you continue long to assist others online. You are inspirational to me.

  • Callie Willows

Great to see you walking the talk and evolving things. I love Fizzle so always good to see new things brought into that, although a little sad to see Think Traffic go.

  • http://www.juhaliikala.com/ Juha Liikala

This IS big guys! I think I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. I just love the evolution Corbett & Co have been able to make reality step by step, starting way back in the day.. from Free pursuits and Gatejumper (anyone remember that one?).. to Corbett Barr.com to Think Traffic. And now this. Wow guys! Think I’ll need to get back to Fizzle soon too.. been taking a little break there, but been missing it dearly.

Congrats guys and all the best wishes to get this yet another adventure started! Fizzzz!

    • Corbett Barr

Thanks Juha, that means a ton, I can’t believe all the evolutions over the years. Thanks for following along, all the way :)

  • Lauren Dillon

I love the focus on audience and not traffic. It changed my day job, it changed my super secret night time ‘thing’ and gave me clarity. The mission is awesome and I’m glad to be a member of this community.

    • Corbett Barr

That’s awesome to hear Lauren, I think we’re on to something ;)

  • Kit-o-matic

Excellent news! Congrats guys! I know how much care you put into everything you do here, so this will no doubt be a successful move. The Fizzle community is like a well tended garden and sometimes the crops need rotating…. (Can’t resist: Corbett is the shovel, Caleb is the spade and Chase… well, I guess he’s the hoe! ;-)

  • Lauren Halagarda

I love the new direction for Think Traffic! As a Fizzler, it only serves to reinforce that I’m in the right place :D

Keep doing what you guys do best!

    • Corbett Barr

Thanks Lauren, we really appreciate the support and everything you’re working on as a Fizzler.

  • Cynthia

great news, as this is what I am planning on doing.. changing a few site names, rebranding, start powerful blogging. This is perfect timing. Do you mine if I copy what you do so I too can become successful! da- huh!

  • http://incomepress.com Joey Kissimmee

I am seriously having TT withdrawals, lol.

Seriously guys, I’m going to miss TT but I totally understand what you guys did, what you’re doing, and what it’s all about.

I’m actually going through the same struggle at the moment with Income Press on whether to stat a brand new thing or just revamp it. It’s such a huge thing to leave something you’ve worked your ass off to build.

I commend you guys and congratulate you for taking such a step forward. Leading the and paving the way in taking such innovative and bold actions.

You can count on me with 150% support.

    All the best fellas.

    • Corbett Barr

      Fortune favors the bold?

Honestly, we’re just going where our heart takes us at this point. We’ve been having such a blast over here, and with The Fizzle Show, that we had to let everyone in on the fun.

      • Chase Reeves

        You’re so sentimental, CB.

  • Daiva Pakalne

Good Luck with everything, I will keep following where ever you go :)

  • http://joeyaugustin.com/ Joey Augustin

@chase_reeves @calebwojcik Big week. HUGE week! :) That’s fine for @corbettbarr (inside B2W jokes)… in all seriousness…really happy for you guys.

  • Paul Potter

Hey Guys! Good Luck! I’m excited to see you all succeed in living out your dreams. Just a newbie but I’d loved to help in anyway I can.

  • Michael

Oh that’s great, just great… now I have to add a new label in my Gmail account… sheesh… :)

  • http://nathalielussier.com Nathalie Lussier

Congratulations team FizzleCo! I love the name and how you’re allowing your business to grow up as you continue to evolve. Your commitment to building something for the long term is exactly why I love you guys and being part of this community.

    Mazel Tov! :)

    • chasereeves

  • James Benton

Really glad that I bumped into you guys. The doses of sane reality have done much to keep me on track. Looking forward to more of the same here!

  • Vanessa Sancho

WOW!!! Congrats!!! Because the most important of it all is that this change is just an external symptom of your own change, individually and as a community. I’ve only been following you since I subscribed to Start a blog that matters in April (and started my blog!), but you’ve been a reference since then, in doing things from the heart, and for it. And… oh shit!!! You are giving me more reasons to enter Fizzle again and get lost there and find my way to the light! :D Seriously (or not), guys, it’s great to have you around. You’ve already got the force with you ;)

    BTW, love that part:

“You want to earn a living doing great work, work you care about, work that stretches and engages you, work that supports your family, work that builds instead of destroys, work that gives instead of withholds.”

… though life is already a gift, we don’t have to earn anything :) Doing this kind of work, what we need will come our way… like The Sparkline!

  • http://rosiemedia.com/ Rosie Taylor

Congrats! It’s been crazy good to watch your transformation from the sidelines. Makes perfect sense to me and actually glad to see a site dedicated to doing work that matters.

  • Melissa Wilson

This is very exciting. I actually just started following you guys recently and I will continue to follow. I’m in the process of creating a website and blog that I hope will matter to a lot of people and it sounds like you guys are going to be really focused on creating content along those lines. I look forward to it and learning from it. Best of luck with your new direction! I’ll try to make it to the live event a little later. Sounds like it will be a good one.

  • Toby

Congrats on all the new changes, how exciting! I love, love, love the font you are using; so clear. It makes me think of the font on Kindle. Looking forward to seeing where you guys go with TheSparkline. Best wishes, Toby

  • mary fran

I love it. The design is beautiful, the attention to detail and useful bits of information is spot on.

And there is nothing better than a cohesive brand.

I can’t wait to see more!

  • http://bourgiewinetv.com/ Krista Summitt

As Diddy would say… “Sleazy marketers, take that, take that, take that!” Brilliant way to lead by example! Congratulations.

    • Chase Reeves

      I’m always gonna love a Jay-Z quote!

      • Krista Summitt

Chase is it true you are not taking on web design work anymore? (PS That’s Diddy, not Jay-Z, but I still feel ya ;-))

        • Chase Reeves

Uh, *woops*. Yea, true that we’re working full time on Fizzle… no more clients.

  • Carlton Taylor

Yay!! Super excited for you guys… and us! I see BIG things for all of us 2014!!

  • David Webb

It is fantastic to see you guys doing so well – I hangout for your 3 wise men gig each week and get some awesome value from you every week – will continue to support you while I crack open a new business and share it with the world.

  • http://www.alinterpretations.com/ @.l.interpretations

Being a newbie, I’m excited from all the great info I’ve been able to use to grow my brand. I tip my hat to you all. Methinks it will only get better from here. :-)

Congrats from a new devotee! :-)

  • Raquel M Ramirez

I just discovered you guys and listened to one of you Podcast shows yesterday. Holy cow! I just about peed myself! You are so freakin’ funny. So thank you. I love your style of bringing insights through tips, tricks, and inside jokes. :D :D :D… On a serious note, so thankful for the rich content and truth telling reality of entrepreneurship. Can wait to get through the other shows. Sincerely, a new raving fan!

    • Caleb Wojcik

Awesome Raquel. Glad to have you on board. :)

  • Bree Brouwer
  • Chase Reeves

Thanks Dan! Start a Blog That Matters is in Fizzle already! You get access to it along with all the other courses in Fizzle. Check out the homepage for more info.

  • http://wpu.me Bradley Charbonneau

I’m going to go out on a limb because I know you guys love your branding and witty taglines, but I could see this as a great Corbett interview title:

    Raising the Barr

You guys just keep raising it. Well done yet again.

    • Corbett Barr

Given our penchant for puns, I approve :)

      • jhcorcoran

I just want to go on the record as saying: please, no puns. Love Fizzle, hate puns.

  • http://youngcheapliving.com/ Kraig

Yes, I too love this mission. You guys have it figured out and I’m modeling my business after it.

Thanks so much for putting your money where your mouth is and doing what you believe is right. It’s helping us a ton!

  • http://www.janemanthorpe.com/ Jane Manthorpe

Love you guys, all the luck for this new approach, and I think you are on the right path. There are many people, like me, that need your guidance and help to make our business fizzle and thrive. I do think that Sparkline is better than ThinkTraffic name, as the word traffic is not personal, people are not traffic they are real people and so ThinkTraffic was probably ok at the time, but now its all different and its all about building an authentic engaging people with real people who love what you have to say and offer. All the best guys and looking forward to being part of this

  • http://UberQuality.com/ Jim Krenz

Sparkline sounds much better—more inspirational. Congratulations!

  • cindy wider

Congrats on Sparkline, I am excited about it all and look forward to learning more!

  • nktokyo

They’re celebrating in France about this one lads.

Congrats! I love what you said! about community building, it reminds me of seth godin tribes book.

I love Start a Blog that Matters and loved thinktraffic. Its such a great course and very resourceful and I am sure Fizzle + Sparkline will just as awesome!

  • http://cutietripledgamer.wordpress.com/ Quaisha A.Thornton

Awesome Beans! Love the new approach! Can’t wait to see where it leads.

  • Leo Gopal

    You guys Rock!

I had a feeling something like this was going to happen, seems only natural knowing how much you guys like focus (and speak about it) and lead by example.

    All success to you guys!

  • Damián Navas

This is exciting, I can’t wait to see what new ways of inspiring you have ready for us. Good luck and see you around!

  • Brad Crawford

Did I miss the announcement of the winners of the Fizzle membership? Can’t seem to find it anywhere. Have a feeling my chocolate bar didn’t have a golden ticket. :-(

    • Caleb Wojcik

Hey Brad, we announced the winners on our live show yesterday and we’ll mention them in an upcoming post on Friday too.

  • http://alexandreb.net/ Alexandre B

Congrats guys ! I wish you the best :)

  • http://www.einsteinssecret.net/ Deborah Owen

I had a great conversation with Danny Iny yesterday, and as you know, Firepole Marketing also just underwent a big change. They also re-did their branding and added an online community (though they didn’t change their name). When I asked Danny about it, he said that your brand is not really what you want people to view you as, but is more a reflection – a mirror – of how people actually view you. So with this rebranding (including the new name!), you are recognizing that people were coming to you for a lot more than just traffic info! Yes, it’s about audience and community. And fun, especially with cat gifs.

    • Caleb Wojcik

Exactly. We knew internally that we wanted our brand to reflect where we are and when our future is headed. The TT brand no longer did that so we changed it. Simple as that.

  • http://www.erikanapoletano.com/ Erika Napoletano

Congrats on becoming the next better version of YOU, Corbett, for both you and your brand. So completely badass that I need to take a moment…HUZZAH!

    • Caleb Wojcik

      Thanks Erika. :)

    • Corbett Barr

Thanks Erika! Anything you call badass must truly be… badass :) We’ll take it!

  • Sathiya Devanathan

Congrats! Team. All the best for your new venture.

  • Stephanie Arsoska

Congratulations. Fizzle is fab and this is only going to strengthen what you do. It’s such a lovely example of the going deep on care that you always talk about. Shakespeare would approve:

    Things done well,
    And with a care, exempt themselves from fear;
Things done without example, in their issue
    Are to be fear’d.

    • Corbett Barr

Thanks for helping us celebrate Stephanie, great to see you here. The Shakespeare is perfect.

  • http://MyWahmLife.com/ Jackie Lee

Write Epic Shit…. I’ve taken that concept from the day the post went live and made it my mantra… not to just write epic shit, but to DO epic shit! Thanks Corbett… looking forward to the new site!

    • Corbett Barr

Glad to hear it Jackie, I hope it’s working out well for you :)

  • Luke Anderson

Congrats on your constant growth and evolution to being ‘true’ to yourselves and your audience! I believe 1 true raving avid fan is worth more than 1000 visitors because of some seo tactics. Sparkline has an interesting ring to it…kinda like nightline on lsd :)

  • http://wecraftstories.com/ Brett Henley

Boom goes the wookie indeed. Love, love, love.

I see lots of potential with “matterful” in the not so distant. Dare I say bad science puns?

    Congrats guys!

  • WillAdams

Allow me to be the 200th person to congratulate you all for
    growing up… wait a minute… that ain’t right. What I mean is I am
happy for the success you guys are having. I’m also happy for us
Fizzlers who get to learn while laughing. As I see it it’s a
win-win-lose. A win for us – who follow your exploits. A win for you
because you can now afford gluten-free crackers. And a loss for anybody
    who isn’t here. Perfect symmetry.

I’d wish you good luck but you don’t need it. You help at least 42
people out every time you publish. That makes for some good Karma.
Just keep doing what you’re doing and trusting your gut. I appreciate
your art. (That’s Seth Godin speak for work ;)

    Hi guys and congratulations.
I’m a fan whatever the name, as I trust and like all what I see on any of your sites since I first discovered you (one or all of the 3 C). I’m proud to be a Fizzler and I already enjoy the Sparkline :)
I’m just going to save a G cached or archive.org thinktraffic page for inspiration, as I was totally in love with the design!

  • J Poland

Count me in on the excitement. I have greatly appreciate TT and Fizzle over the past several months and can’t wait to see further developments from this trio of insanity!

  • David Reed

Wow! Fizzle is just what I’ve been looking for – for years. I learned about Fizzle and its offerings from listening to Pat Flynn’s podcasts, hearing Corbett, then visiting Pat’s blog. I started the Build a Blog that Matters course and while I’m just getting started, I love what I’m learning. The basics of discovering one’s Topic and Audience I’d never have really dived into – as one should – if not for this course of study.

I have a BIG topic of my own to hone and develop which fits right in with Fizzle’s principles and mission. My topic is one that will be dear to the heart of many and ultimately all people, of this I am sure. I want our blog to be a BIG HELP to as many folks as I can reach.

Thanks everyone for building, contributing to, and participating in Fizzle. I’m glad to be a Fizzle Fan! ;-)

  • Melinda Crean

Well done Corbett, I’m so pleased you’ve taken your venture to the next level. I was never a regular commenter on Think Traffic, but definitely an avid reader. I joined your Start A Blog That Matters Course, which got my blog Top Notch Teaching off the ground. I don’t think I ever would have launched my blog if it wasn’t for this course. I’m looking forward to continue reading more great stuff from you guys as well as help me take my business to the next level. All the best.

  • Brent Owens

Great stuff! I love it. As a Fizzler I understood the history, but you’re right there was a little disconnect between Think Traffic and Fizzle, now that it’s “under one roof” you’ll really be able to hone the message. Love the podcast and all you work. I’m a huge fan!

  • http://paulbrodie.net/ Paul Brodie

I’ve only been around this community for a short time now. Over the last month I’ve caught up with all of the Fizzle show episodes, but I haven’t spent time reading TT, so I don’t have any favorite TT memories, but the aspect of the Fizzle show that has been the most important to me is the honesty in defining the why and how of starting and running an online business.
I’ve spent a lot of time over the last year learning about blogging and publishing and sadly I think some of that time was wasted on the wrong sources. But it is all experience that has become my foundation. Fizzle is filling in the cracks and weak spots of that foundation like a healing balm with powerful adhesive properties. Something like that.
I really enjoy Fizzle and it’s definitely influencing me. I look forward to more of the same spirit of improvement in self and business. The overall mindset that says you can do it, but not “just because.” You can do it because it matters to you and you are willing to put in the time. I’ve come for the practical information, but stay for the method of delivery. Thanks for all the stuff, guys!

  • http://TrafficSmartMarketing.com/ Tom Southern

Love the creativity!! Is this cat producing kittens soon? I want one!! Best wishes for the venture. Can’t wait to be engulfed by the fall-out. Cheers lads!

  • http://www.modernmarried.com/ Maggie Reyes

I love your approach and what you are doing. Thanks for sharing the ‘behind the scenes’ of the journey!

  • David McCracken

I’m absolutely blown away by what you guys have created, what you’ve done, and where you’re going! I’ve been a member of Fizzle for only a few days. I’d never even heard of it or you guys before a few days ago (thank you, Erika Napoletano!). Your values are perfectly matched to mine. I can’t begin to express my gratitude for your generosity. You guys are amazing. Please please please don’t lose sight of what it is we’re buying from you. Your blogs, courses, office hours, the forum . . . all really great features. But, your INTEGRITY is what we’re buying. I can’t wait to learn from you, meet all the great people here, and finally take action to answer the call to my life’s true purpose! So f’in’ stoked to be here! Thanks!

    • Corbett Barr

Thanks SO much for this comment David. This kind of insight reminds us exactly why we’re building Fizzle and why it’s so easy to care about everyone in the community. Thank you!
