Start a Blog that Matters: Welcome!
Blogging is an incredibly effective and reliable way to reach tons of people. And in this course, we’re going to teach you how to create a blog that can truly matter to you, to your business, to your creativity, and to your readers’ lives.
Let’s think about a few of the things a great blog gets you:
First, it builds an audience. These are people who resonate with your topic, with your voice. A blog becomes a rally point for your tribe.
Second, a successful blog is one of the best direct connection tools you can have — when you launch a product or service, having subscribers who are ready and willing to buy is a massive advantage. A blog attracts buyers.
And third, a blog that works is an asset that lasts for years and years. There are blog post that I wrote 5 years ago that are still sending thousands and thousands of people to our website every month. When everyone’s chasing around the newest social network, our blog posts from years ago are still generating traffic and revenue.
So, a successful blog is a powerful tool on so many levels, BUT we’re all afraid to work countless hours on a blog and not see the results because it’s really easy to do a blog poorly.
Or, we’re worried we might be too late, that all the good content has already been written, or that what I have to say isn’t going to add any value.
Or we struggle with the technology — what platforms and plugins do I have to use? What does the design of our blog need to include, and how can I do all of this if I don’t know how to code?
These are real problems. Problems I know well because I’ve been blogging successfully for half a decade. I’ve created four hugely successful blogs personally, I’ve worked hands-on to create and grow some of the biggest blogs on the web, and THIS course has produced hundreds of successful blogs, the kinds of blogs that support full time income, with a confident, focused and growing blogger at the controls.

The Three Modules of Start a Blog that Matters
There are three core modules to this course:
In the first we setup a rock solid foundation: what the blog is about (the topic of our blog), why it matters to the audience (the compelling reason why), setting smart business goals with the blog (there are 2 kinds of blog goals), getting our basic building blocks setup, and writing a killer about page.
In the second we go through the seven step process to make content that earns true fans: we’ll talk about a reader journey map, how to do research on what’s popular, how to create an initial content strategy that works, how to shape great headlines, how to develop articles from nothing to something that really works, how to write a first draft, and how to shape you content so that it earns true fans.
And in the third we set our blog up for launch and as wide a reach as possible. We’ll cover strategies for promoting posts, how to set up your blog’s design and website, how to create a launch plan and launch your blog with a bang, and then strategies for growth after launch.
