I heard some advice from an entrepreneur about how hopeful entrepreneurs should pursue their first business idea. (That advice is explained in the podcast below.) It made me think about how long it can take before your business starts earning revenue.
Earlier this week I stumbled on an example of absolutely terrible advice from the U.S. Small Business Administration. This advice made me angry and sad at the same time. Angry at the SBA and sad for anyone who follows the advice.
There’s ALL this work we want to do… but it’s not getting done. This is the work that’s going to lead to our success — the ideas and projects and tasks that our careers are built on.
Execution. It’s one of those big business words that might apply more to entrepreneurs than anyone else. It’s also what matters most every day. Why?

I’ve got a little bone to pick with a piece of extremely common advice I hear from successful entrepreneurs. I hear this advice everywhere.
