Thanks Darlene! no plans to transcribe it yet. You should try out listening while you drive/run/garden/etc. I’ve become addicted to podcasts… love the deep + freeform style of the conversation (as opposed to typical “let’s get to the hits” kinds of interviews/shows).

It’s a pretty good start, guys. The production value is high – especially the intro and outtro segments – you play off of each other well, and the topic is relevant to why you three do what you do. More importantly, you say valuable things targeted to the people you’re trying to help.

I think this is the first time I’ve laughed so hard and learnt so much at the same time. I feel like I have to listen again just to make sure I got all the nuances.
I particularly liked Corbett’s 5 ways to know if you’re expressing your true voice or not, and Chase, you were SO right when you said “we’re all infants and we just want to be snuggled.” Like our work has to be liked if it matters, right? That’s the first stumbling block, anyway.
I’m gonna open an iTunes account just so I can leave a review for you guys. I don’t have an iPod so podcasts are a hassle to keep up with, but for you 3, I’ll make an exception. :)

I’m a podcast junkie and I just finished listening and I’m looking forward to the next episode. I would think about trimming it to 25 minutes…gets a little long after 30 minutes. I liked the interview at the end and I think thats a great feature you should expand on. Great kickoff!

I’ve been a follower and reader of Think Traffic for a long time and am also a member of the premium Fizzle site.
I eagerly ingest every piece of content the Three C’s put out. It’s always informative, thought provoking, or ass kicking. Usually just what I need. Finding my voice is very relevant for me as I try to write me first paid ebook.
If you are in business (any kind physical or online) you want to subscribe and listen to this podcast. It’s just real, honest, a bit gritty at times (with usually a touch of humor added courtesy of Chase) and valid, valuable information by real guys that are in business too. This is not a “do what we say” or a “do this and get rich” podcast – these guys walk the walk and talk the talk of doing business in the real world today!!

I know I’m not the only one who thought this, but I just thought I’d thank you. Incredibly useful for me as I’m learning to own my blog and not just “keep” it.
I just came across your podcast in the last few days and sat down today to listen. I took a pile of notes. The biggest takeaway for me is the 5 signs!
I released my podcast last month and started creating YouTube videos so I really needed this information to keep me in check. From building an IT business which did not require me to do much talking other than when I was selling to now creating blog articles, video and audio content, this information is very helpful. Thank you!

I’ve been meaning to check your podcasts out for a while, and just got round to it. Great start. Great production value, clear audio, awesome they are downloadable – and really inspiring. I’ve had loads of online business ideas but none that felt right – or that I would want to actually write about for any length of time. Right now I have 11 weeks left of a 3 month DJ contract in the Maldives and I have time to think about how best to approach my best idea, and you guys have really helped. Thank you! Will definitely check out your Fizzle.co course too now that I have time. :-)

I’m going to really try to find my unique voice by not mimicking the tone of other blogs. I do this without realizing it.
Hey guys! I came across your podcast after listening to Pat Flynn’s SPI and AskPat podcasts, where he recommended Think Traffic about a billion times. Think Traffic became Sparkline, which led me to Fizzle, and now I’m completely addicted to your Podcasts! I’ve listed to the first dozen or so at least twice each over the past couple of weeks, and the two-part “Finding Your Voice” discussion three or four times.
I also joined Fizzle almost immediately, and I’m now a part-time Fizzler! Very excited about being a part of your community, and learning all I can about building things I care about.
Now, let’s see if I can pull a couple things out of my pages and pages of notes from the inaugural podcast topic:
*Admit who you are and what level you’re at regarding your business topic/niche. This will allow you to be comfortable, and you’ll be starting from an honest place.*
Perfect definition of finding one’s voice: *Being able to fully express myself, through my writing, in a voice that fits who I really am.*
*People come for the topic, and stay for the voice.*
*There is a wide range of True and Good.* This is HUGE for me. I’ve struggled with the idea that I have to be the best and only voice in order to be successful in a topic/business/nice. This simply isn’t true. Thank you Chase! You’ve alleviated years of frustration for me, in the expression of this one idea.
And finally, after going to the Show Notes, I clicked through to the Steven Pressfield article. I found the quote Chase mentioned in the podcast, but I also found this one, which I think might be more useful to this discussion:
“To me the trick is getting your own ego out of the way. What voice does the material want? Find that. You the writer are not there to impose “your” voice on the material. Your job is to surrender to the material—and allow it to tell you what voice it wants in order to tell itself.”
Maybe this idea lends itself more to fiction, but I feel like it applies to any form or writing, for business or otherwise. Every piece we sit down and write, be it a blog post, email, private journal entry, or whatever else…everything has a tone, a mood, and a therapeutic, instructional, and/or valuable idea and message behind it. Finding the perfect voice to express those things in…that’s the key to affecting your readers. That’s the key to moving them, or yourself, to action, and to imbuing your words within them.
I’m loving everything you guys do! Totally addicted to your show, your mission, and the people I’m getting to know through it all!

Really appreciate you touching on process and creativity and how the idea and conception is just the beginning; whether it’s writing a whole blog post to explain one simple idea or writing a novel, it’s a whole process and you do have to ‘do the work’.

So good! Would it be cheeky to ask if you ever review people’s blogs/writing or if you could review mine (even a sample) and provide feedback about the voice & feeling of it? After reading blogs from people like Gala Darling, Kathleen Peck, Gretchen Rubin, Seth Godin, Gary Vaynerchuk, Tim Ferriss, Leo Babauta & more I learn what I can then turn around and write how I talk (Well I think I do) but I am still working on finding ‘MY’ voice and letting that shine through without self editing…. anyway love your work!!
