The Top 10 Mistakes in Online Business
Every week we talk with entrepreneurs. We talk about what’s working and what isn’t. We talk about successes and failures. We spend time with complete newbies, seasoned veterans, and everything in between.
One topic that comes up over and over again with both groups is mistakes made in starting businesses. Newbies love to learn about mistakes so they can avoid them. Veterans love to talk about what they wish they had known when starting out.
These conversations have been fascinating, so we compiled a list of the 10 mistakes we hear most often into a nifty lil' guide. Get the 10 Most Common Mistakes in Starting an Online Business here »

Thanks so much for creating these videos Corbett – and keep them coming! The concept of the kind of work culture I promote in my own business ; ouch! I definetely need to take more breaks and have a more realistic view of what can be done in a week.
And i LOVE the idea of creating something interesting. I am an “expert” in stressreduction and actully plan to do a roadtrip here in Denmark with my family and along the way do some “crowdsourcing” on the Danish people’s experiences writh stress and how to handle it. It will hopefully give my business sone attetion but will be a fun and worthwhile project in itself.
I would love some more advice on how to build my business in the most simple way if I am not primarily interested in earning loads or hiring many people but would like a 30 hour work week with a decent regular income
Best Birgitte Sølvstein
Thanks for watching Birgitte, I appreciate the feedback. Simplicity will be one of our themes for sure.
Cool show! Can you make it a video podcast so it arrives in my podcast player automatically? Just like Pat Flynn’s show for example…
Thanks for checking it out Andre! We’ll be looking into other formats, I appreciate the suggestion.
Excellent, Corbett.
I really like the content and I love the intro. Thank you so much for creating this. I’m looking forward to more episodes.
In the first three minutes of your first video, you had mentioned an idea that actually inspired me to write a blog post on a similar topic. I actually stopped your video and wrote my post, then went back to watching. So…thanks for the inspiration!
Just in case you’re curious…
Your comment was about finding something that interests you and that you’re good at rather than waiting for some great epiphany (largely paraphrased). My website & blog focuses on helping people find their true calling, which sounds like the opposite of what you had recommended. However, it made me think about the misunderstanding many of us have about following our calling (thinking that we’re limited to pursuing only one thing when in actuality, it’s about pursuing what calls to us throughout our lives, which can lead to a multitude of things that we do). I do appreciate the advice that you gave on this topic though, because for many people just getting started, this is where they need to begin – with finding something that both interests them and they’re good at. I think that’s where I started at first too. :-)
By the way, thank you (and thanks to the other folks at Fizzle) for creating the Fizzle Business Sketch Template! I haven’t looked at it yet, but I’m already excited about it. It’s funny that after all of the things I’ve been learning about, a “business plan” wasn’t something that had come across my radar. I’ve developed my own business road map (inspired by the Fizzle Roadmap), which has been fantastic for helping me focus on where I’m at and what I need to focus on (following the idea of “ruthless focus”). So anyway, thanks for that – I’m looking forward to checking it out.
Sorry for the lengthy comment. Sometimes I have a lot to say. ;-)
I love this conversation Suraya. Thanks for taking the time to share. This kind of interaction is exactly what I hope the new show will create. It sounds like we’re on the same page in many ways.
Love there is more content form your guys! I am actually listening to the email podcasts (way back in the beginning ) and you guys are talking about the few people you subscribe to who you actually read their emails – I read all of your emails and can’t wait to have another weekly one. I am a beginner lifestyle entrepre-blogger(?) Thanks so much for putting in the time to give us these resources!
