Whew. It’s been a busy couple of months since we last updated you on what’s new inside of Fizzle. We’ve released an all new member dashboard, two new courses on video production and product creation and two new founder stories with inspiring entrepreneurs.
If you’re not a Fizzle member, here are a few brand new things that might make you tempted to try Fizzle for just $1 for your first month »
The New Member Dashboard and Paths
As Fizzle has grown, so has our need to help our members know where best to start with our training.
So we went back to the drawing board and asked ourselves how we could create a more intuitive, choose-your-own-adventure feel to our training library. The result is an entirely new dashboard and something we call “Paths:”

To do this, we made a pass through every one of our courses, founder stories, podcast episodes, and featured articles to create six curated “Paths,” which you can see in the graphic above. The six paths include:
- Start a Blog That Matters – Perfect if you’re just setting out on your online journey and want to start a blog that serves an audience.
- Grow My Audience – once you’ve built a platform, this path will help you grow your audience and make a bigger impact with your work.
- Build + Launch a Product – For when you’re ready to turn your expertise into a high quality product that serves your audience.
- Build a Podcast – Maybe your blog is taking off and you want to tackle a new medium… Or perhaps you have a perfect radio voice.
- Build a Service Business – Selling a service is one of the best ways to start generating or grow revenue for your business.
- Expand My Network – Relationships are everything. Having the right people on your team will help you reach your goals faster.
Now, when you jump into Fizzle for the first time, you’ll know exactly where to start based on your current business goals.
Essentials of Shooting and Editing Video
Caleb Wojcik is one of our resident experts on video at Fizzle. Before he spread his wings to start his own video production business, he left us with a parting gift of his best stuff on shooting and editing videos, DIY style.
This course will help you choose the right equipment, set up for a video shoot, find the most affordable lighting setup, and edit your videos for best production value.
Caleb also takes you behind the scenes to show you how we make our courses, founder stories, and office hours videos at Fizzle.
Just Ship It Challenge Case Study Videos
In January, we launched the Just Ship It Challenge and since then we’ve helped hundreds of entrepreneurs launch their next product, project, or website.
The results have been incredible and Caleb jumped into the action himself to create a successful product of his own called the DIY Video Guide.
Along the way, he documented every step in the process to give you a ground level look at what it means to create an information product.
The case study videos correspond to each of the lessons throughout the 30 day challenge. The case study videos and full 30-day Just Ship It Challenge are both available publicly for free here »
New Founder Stories
Founder stories are curated conversations with entrepreneurs and founders who have already done the thing.
They’ve taken the leap, started a project, built a business, and made a sustainable living from it. We go deep on what it means to be an entrepreneur and all of the highs and lows that come with the journey.
We have two brand new Founder Stories in the library:
- Jamie Tworkowksi: Jamie is the founder of To Write Love On Her Arms, a nonprofit dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide.
- Chris Ducker: Chris is the founder of Virtual Staff Finder, a virtual staff placement service, and the author of Virtual Freedom, an Amazon bestseller in three business categories. Corbett sat down with Chris to find out how he went from working in sales and training employees in telemarketing in the Philippines to working for the “Wolf of Infomercials Street” and then finally became a successful entrepreneur, author and speaker.
We put a ton of work into creating the absolute best possible free content on The Sparkline and at The Fizzle Show.
But there’s no doubt that our best stuff and primary focus is on making Fizzlers successful in creating sustainable, fulfilling businesses.
We’ll never pressure you to join us, but you can bet that if you decide to give it a shot, we’ll do everything we can to help you reach your goals.
It’s only $1 for your first month. If it feels like the right time, try it out. What do you have to lose?

The Top 10 Mistakes in Online Business
Every week we talk with entrepreneurs. We talk about what’s working and what isn’t. We talk about successes and failures. We spend time with complete newbies, seasoned veterans, and everything in between.
One topic that comes up over and over again with both groups is mistakes made in starting businesses. Newbies love to learn about mistakes so they can avoid them. Veterans love to talk about what they wish they had known when starting out.
These conversations have been fascinating, so we compiled a list of the 10 mistakes we hear most often into a nifty lil' guide. Get the 10 Most Common Mistakes in Starting an Online Business here »

Good stuff, guys! Looking forward to digging into Caleb’s course soon. I also like the use of the GIF in the post.
Thanks Thomas! I used a little tool called GIFBrewery on the mac to make the gif, and just QuickTime to record the screen capture. Pretty easy.
Not a bad tool Corbett, if you’re into GIFs you both might want to take a look at LICEcap, you can record your screen straight to GIF, no video to convert middle man, works very well.

There’s also Gifrocket, which is beta and free right now

Do you guys have an overview of how you moved your old Think Traffic content to this site?
Hey Jim, try this article about the move, most of what we did is documented here: http://fizzle.co/sparkline/move-wordpress-to-another-domain
Thanks Corbett. You are the man.
Hey Jim, if you’re looking for someone to handle it all for you, see here : )
