Real talk: are you working hard on your business, finding it very difficult and not remembering clearly why you set off to build your own thing in the first place?
Bonus points if you’re either a). angry that someone would ask you that, or b). crying right now.
On this episode of the show (this is a podcast episode, all the goodies are inside it) the two founders of Fizzle share some hard-won perspective about why this guy — who just quit his business — is NOT a failure… he’s a hero.
It’s a great episode for all of us to remember WHY THE HELL WE DO THIS STUFF. Enjoy.

The Top 10 Mistakes in Online Business
Every week we talk with entrepreneurs. We talk about what’s working and what isn’t. We talk about successes and failures. We spend time with complete newbies, seasoned veterans, and everything in between.
One topic that comes up over and over again with both groups is mistakes made in starting businesses. Newbies love to learn about mistakes so they can avoid them. Veterans love to talk about what they wish they had known when starting out.
These conversations have been fascinating, so we compiled a list of the 10 mistakes we hear most often into a nifty lil' guide. Get the 10 Most Common Mistakes in Starting an Online Business here »

Chase, thank you for validating my life in this episode. I’ve been struggling for over a year with whether or not my passion and direction is the right choice (even though I know deep down it definitely is) — innovating in the (currently bonkers) music industry and helping newer or struggling artists figure this “making a living with music” stuff out. By saying that if you were starting now YOU would choose the exact same thing I’m working on just made me feel so freakin’ good, not to mention the additional validation through feedback of the guests on my podcast who live and breathe the industry every day, as well as listeners who have reached out to me. Trust me, you’re so right.
I also just read like ALL the waitbuywhy posts in the past few weeks and I’m so glad I did, thanks for the recommendation. I have to say the final Musk post was sobering, and made me and my choices in life feel pretty small, however the chef vs cook idea is a solid one. So I feel validated in the sense that I’m approaching the industry from a “first principles” angle by launching the podcast and taking a super curious approach (shameless self-promotional link, if you’re interested in the music industry: apple.co/1UR7Auw) Also, just yesterday I decided exactly what I’m going to start doing to directly serve my audience and possibly bring in a modest income that can be scaled.
Anyway, my Fizzle membership just renewed today after it was paused for a couple months, time to jump back into the community. :D
The truest thing I can say about this episode is… it’s important. It’s damn important. I appreciate that you guys are out there, saying stuff that seems (on the face of it) to be a dangerous thing to “admit” to your audience. But in the end, it’s so true and so helpful…… it’s one of those episodes that will make life-long loyal listeners. You might have just made one out of me. ;-)
